Fund the
next acre.

Six blocks applied for a garden this year and we can currently fund two. Monthly giving is what moves that number, because it lets us commit before the money arrives.

Make a gift

This is a demo form - no payment is taken and nothing is sent. First Acre is a 501(c)(3); gifts are tax-deductible and receipts are issued immediately.

Thank you - genuinely.
A receipt would normally be in your inbox within a minute, and we'd send photographs from the garden your gift went to at the end of the season.

Where it goes

84¢ of every dollar goes directly into land, materials, and growing programs. 11¢ keeps two staff and the insurance, 5¢ funds the grant writing that brings in three times what it costs.

Other ways to give

Donor-advised funds, stock transfers, employer matching, and bequests are all straightforward - email hello@firstacre.org and a person will reply.

Giving

Questions.

Is my donation tax-deductible?
Yes. First Acre is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, EIN 84-2910473. You'll receive a receipt immediately and an annual summary each January for your records.
Can I cancel a monthly gift?
Any time, from the link at the bottom of every email we send, with no phone call and no retention attempt. We'd rather you gave for two years and stopped cleanly than felt trapped into it.
Can I say where my money goes?
Yes - you can direct a gift to a specific garden or to the general fund. The general fund is more useful, honestly, because it lets us move quickly when a lot becomes available, but directed gifts are welcome and always spent where you say.
Does my employer match?
Many do, and it's the single easiest way to double a gift. We're registered with the major matching platforms - send us your employer's name and we'll tell you within a day.
Will you email me constantly?
No. Four times a year, plus a receipt. That's the whole schedule and it hasn't changed in ten years.
